It’s the dead of night. After a long shift at your restaurant, all you want to do is go home. But there’s an issue — sewage seems to be seeping into the sink. Is this an emergency?
There are a few circumstances when you can’t just wait for regular services, such as:
- Your building is at risk of flooding because of a burst pipe, sewer backup, or a failure with a water shut-off valve.
- An issue with your sewer line is causing sewage to back up into your home, creating a safety hazard and preventing you from using your facilities.
- You don’t have access to running water.
- You’re at risk of a burst pipe because of frozen pipes.
If you feel the plumbing issue will create any collateral damage to your business, resulting in serious damage and high costs, you’re going to need an experienced commercial plumber and fast.

Step Two – Turn Off Heat Devices
If your emergency was caused by a heating device, turn it off to avoid pressure build-up or hot water burns.
Step Three – Isolate the Leaks or Remove Clogs
Find the leaks at try to capture the water with a container. If you can, clean up any residual water from around the area. Similarly, if you see the source of a clog, try to dislodge it with a plunger.
