WHAT IS HYDRO JETTING?
When your commercial drain line is blocked, the most effective method to clean the lines is hydro jetting. An environmentally safe and more effective way to clear out your sewer and drain lines, hydro jetting uses high-velocity water pressure to blast through a heavy waste blockage. Once the blockage is cleared, there will be nothing left in the pipe to create a new blockage problem down the line.
Because of the size and frequent usage, commercial establishments require sewer jetting. For example, the grease buildup from a restaurant can easily clog its drain lines if not cleaned on a regular basis. Since hydro jetting has the velocity and power to break through the toughest blockages and scours the pipe’s full diameter, the buildup will quickly be cleared up in no time!
WHY IS HYDRO JETTING EFFECTIVE IN KEEPING DRAIN LINES CLEAR?
In most blockages, plumbers use a cable machine to power a hole through the buildup. But with softer blockages such as grease, scale, and debris, this method is not as effective and doesn’t completely clear out the blockage. Instead of clearing out the blockage, a cable machine will only bore a hole to push out the debris.
However, hydro jetting thoroughly cleans and flushes the debris out of the drainpipe. Additionally, other than replacing pipes, hydro jetting is the most effective pipe clearing tool without causing damage to the surrounding area and infrastructures.
HOW DOES HYDRO JETTING WORK?
Our first step is taking a look at your drain using our sewer camera equipment to see what is causing the blockage and if hydro jetting is the best course of action. We want to make sure your pipes are in good condition to withstand the pressure from the hydro jetter. If your pipes are broken, then we will use other methods to remove the clog and fix the pipes, such as pipe lining.
Once it’s determined that hydro jetting is the right option, we begin by connecting the high-pressure water tank to a flexible hose. Once the hose is secure, ordinary water is propelled through the hose under varying amounts of pressure into the sewer line. A special nozzle at the end of the hose is engineered to disburse jets of water in a forward and reverse motion. These high-pressure streams of water will blast through the pipe, breaking up the debris and cleaning the pipe at the same time.
THE BENEFITS OF SEWER JETTING
As opposed to using a plumbing snake, which only pokes holes in the blockage, or using harsh chemicals that could damage your pipes, hydro jetting can effectively clear the lines with just the use of high-pressure water. Hydro jetting can also prevent future drain blockages by thoroughly flushing out the entire line.
Not only can it clear grease and hair buildup, but it can also clear up smaller tree roots. Sometimes, tree roots will get into the sewer line when they’re small to gain water and nutrients. Over time these roots will grow, causing more and more damage until the pipe is destroyed. But, hydro jetting your sewer lines will break up these small roots before they do any damage to your pipe.
But be warned, hydro jetting could damage older and frailer sewer pipes. This is why you need to hire a professional to inspect the pipe first before hydro jetting can occur.
